The electronic mail distribution list for the QCCAML was implemented to strengthen cooperation amongst Québec libraries, archives and documentation centres concerned with music and music materials, by providing a forum for the exchange of ideas.

The list is used for discussions of all musical topics of interest to music information professionals, for the distribution of announcements, and as a clearinghouse and distribution centre for documents of interest to the Québec musical community.
