About Us

History

After three years of successful Québec Music Libraries Meetings, the Québec Chapter of CAML (Canadian Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres) was officially formed in 2008 by a group of librarians anxious to capitalize on the collaborative energy of all those interested in music librarianship in Québec. In October 2008, the Chapter held its first annual meeting at the Bibliothèque de l’Université Laval in Québec. Since then, with a growing number of members, the ACBM Québec Chapter has been recognized as an important figure in the field of music documentation.

Mission

The Chapter’s aims are threefold:

  1. To act as the Québec branch of the Canadian Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres;
  2. To encourage and promote the activities and research within Québec libraries, archives and documentation centres concerned with music and music materials;
  3. To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and strengthen cooperation among institutions and individuals interested in music collections.
